ADiv megaphylogeny published in Nature E&E

A 5200-species “megaphylogeny” of Agaricomycetes by Torda Varga, Krisztina Krizsán, and many collaborators, all led by Laszlo Nagy, has just appeared in Nature Ecology and Evolution. The paper is Open Access so you can read and download it here. This paper answers the ancient question, “why are there so many mushrooms?”

This project was launched in 2013. Great to see it coming to fruition! A blog post by Torda is here. Clark’s story about the study is here.
