The aDiv (Agaricales Diversification) project website has just been launched. This is a new initiatiave, headed by Laszlo Nagy with collaborators at the University of Szeged, to understand the diversification of one of the largest clades of Fungi. aDiv seeks to address the following questions:
– what drives lineage diversification in the Agaricales?
– what is the contribution of adaptive radiations to extant diversity?
– how do morphological innovations relate to diversification rate variation?
Those of you who have ever wondered why there are so many different mushrooms will certainly want to stay tuned.
