Alfredo Justo has just created five new Wikipedia pages for the genus Volvopluteus, which he described with colleagues in Fungal Biology*. The main genus page includes a description of morphological characters, taxonomic history, and phylogenetic relationships. Detailed information on taxonomy, characters, and distributions are presented on separate pages for each of the four species, V. asiaticus, V. earlei, V. gloiocephalus, and V. michiganensis.
These pages were created in response to a travel grant competition sponsored by FESIN, the NSF-supported Fungal Environmental Sampling and Informatics Network (yes, Fredo received a travel grant–thank you, FESIN!).
