Romina Gazis has joined the lab as a post-doc on the Open Tree of Life project. Previously, Romina was in Priscilla Chaverri’s lab at the University of Maryland. Romina is an expert on systematics of endophytes, including symbionts of rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis) and the newly-described class Xylonomycetes. In OpToL, Romina will help to compile and analyze fungal trees and data for integration into a comprehensive phylogeny of life.
